Wireless Technician
Due to continuous growth, our client is on the lookout for an intermediate to senior level Wireless Technician to join their Communications Team in a full-time, permanent position.
Based out of their SOR workshop, you’ll be part of the team responsible for installing, commissioning and integrating wireless telecommunications mobile base stations and transmission equipment throughout Metro Perth & Regional WA.
- Work with Telstra, Optus, TPG and NBN
- Maintain, install, commission, and integrate wireless telecommunication equipment like radio base stations, terminating hybrid-flex cables & coaxial feeder cables/tails, earthing, cable trays, diplexers, combiner etc.
- Install and maintain WCDMA/LTE/4G/5G/ NBN technologies
- Test, commission and fault find wireless telecommunications systems
- Install, test and commission microwave radio systems
- Implement detailed design / construction packs
Typical working hours are 6:30AM – 3:00PM Monday to Friday, with a 38hr working week – anything additional is considered overtime and will incur penalty rates on top of your base. There’s also the opportunity to pick up additional OT & weekend work for additional pay.
What you’ll need to be successful in this role:
- Previous experience in a similar wireless role, working with Australia’s major telecommunication carriers & internet service providers
- 4G & 5G rollout experience
- Previous Greenfield and / or Brownfield Project experience, and the ability to fully integrate & commission a site
- ACMA Open Cabling Licence
- Australian Drivers Licence
- Construction White Card
- Tower Rescue (not essential, but desired)
- RF / EME Awareness (not essential, but desired)
- Working at Heights (not essential, but desired)
- nbn Fixed Wireless experience (not essential, but desired)
