Senior Test Engineer 

About the Opportunity

Are you an experienced Test Engineer looking for a challenging role in a fast-paced, high-tech environment? This is your chance to work on a next-generation autonomous system, contributing to critical testing phases for a highly advanced project.

This contract runs for an initial six months, with at least two years of work in the pipeline. The role is FIFO from Perth on an 8:6 roster, offering a great work-life balance while being part of a dynamic 24-hour testing environment.

About You

We are seeking a Senior Test Engineer with:

• Extensive Testing Experience: At least 8–10 years in a testing role, preferably in complex hardware or real-time systems.
• Independence & Initiative: The ability to work autonomously, self-schedule, and meet deadlines without direct oversight.
• Manual Testing Expertise: While automation is minimal, experience in regression, UAT, and integration testing is essential.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with Linux AND Docker (non-negotiable).
• Industry Background: Experience in high-reliability environments such as resources, defence, or industrial automation is highly regarded.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to write and review test cases, identify potential safety concerns, and champion bug fixes.

A driver’s licence is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct hands-on verification testing of autonomous systems.
• Develop and execute test cases in alignment with architectural requirements.
• Complete handovers with your back-to-back shift partner.
• Work closely with engineering teams to ensure high-quality system performance.
• Identify and escalate safety concerns.
• Engage in peer reviews and champion the resolution of critical bugs.
