Join one of Australia’s Tier 1 Clean Energy Mining companies on an initial 6 month contract. This is a FIFO role on an 8:6 roster with NO NIGHT SHIFTS! The core focus of this role will be to provide automated control solutions to new projects.
Salary:
$95-105/hr + super (up to $294k package)
What you’ll be doing day to day:
- Design and deliver process control systems for mine site and fixed plant operations, power, NPI, water and new development projects
- Design review and validation of various engineering designs and associated components
- Select key components suitable for projects
- Provide technical guidance on all Process Control Systems Engineering related works
- Develop technical specifications to meet project specific objectives
- Interpret engineering drawings, documents, specifications, and scopes
- Manage control system contractors for the work progress and deliverables
- Review existing control systems and recommend upgrades and modifications
- Identify and drive instrumentation and process control best practices
- Develop hardware and software standards and design for the technical solutions implemented
- Deploy and commission the automation technology to various operational and future projects
- Hands on programming, PLC and SCADA systems
What you’ll need to be successful in this role:
- Full & unrestricted Australian working rights
- Bachelor of Electrical, Electronics, Control Systems or Mechatronics Engineering
- Advanced experience in Control Systems Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or similar role
- PLC and HMI Programming experience
- SCADA programming experience, Ignition SCADA, Cimplicity, Win CC, other
- Experience with other widely used industrial comms protocols, such as MQTT, PROFINET, Profibus and Modbus
- Experience with different system controllers and programming languages, such as Structured Text, Function Block, Ladder, C#, VB
- Experience with design and development of Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems and SCADA
- Experience with operation of inverters, chargers and VSD
- Experience with Functional Safety principle and familiar with Functional Safety standard and compliance
- Experience with control system design, development, and commissioning phases
- Ability to lead instrumentation and process control audits and develop associated action plans
Additional skills / experience that would be highly advantageous:
- HME/Automotive experience
- Experience working on power and renewable energy projects
- Miri mapping and coding
- Experience in designing high voltage DC power systems with experience in electrical noise filtration
