About You:
We’re looking for a driven and self-motivated Backend Developer with a strong background in backend development and a problem-solving mindset. Ideally, you’ll have experience in asset management or maintenance, though this is not a dealbreaker. What matters most is your ability to work closely with a domain expert to take in messy data sets and produce meaningful results. You thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and are eager to innovate.
You should have:
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in backend development.
• Experience with backend technologies (any backend language, frameworks, or tools).
• A background in asset management or maintenance (ideally).
• Familiarity with tools and frameworks such as scikit-learn, spacy, and pytorch (not essential).
• A passion for working on innovative, high-impact projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop backend capabilities for a cutting-edge product, taking in complex data sets and translating domain expert requirements into code.
• Handle data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes, ensuring that data is effectively processed for analysis.
• Collaborate closely with a team of 3, working hands-on to deliver the project.
• Report directly to the Head of Software, working with the Product Owner to align technical solutions with business needs.
• Innovate and problem-solve in a "skunkworks" environment, free from traditional bureaucratic constraints.
