My notes
Working on the 5th Floor within ABN in the Tech Hub on their own before this they will join the other service desk team for training on systems and environment. This role is pretty demanding though. 6 months in this role is enough according to the service desk manager Harrison Ring. Team is made up of 7. 2 based in Melbourne and 5 based in Leederville. 3 ladies and 2 gentlemen in the team all between 23-32 of age. Very social and a fun environment. Harrison said it's a great place to work. The person must be resilient as the job is fairly demanding. Not phone based. Has to be onsite and go to the users to fix and troubleshoot. It's working in a Tech Hub similar to an Apple store Harrison said. 7.30am to 4.30pm Mon - Friday hour lunch. Smart, presentable and great communication. Has been unhappy with Robert Walters so giving us a try. If we fill this he will give us the FTE roles also. Working on their own most of the time without supervision. The wider team will back this person up via group chat if stuck on stuff. Otherwise they are on their own!
Now for the Tech!
The environment is ITIL Methodology v3 or v4 is a must for this person to have. Ticket system is Service Now. Supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft Stack AD, Office 365, Wintel environment.
Wintel engineers possess above average analytical skills and they are able to navigate issues with minimal assistance from others. They also keep all stakeholders informed and up-to-date in a timely manner. They must possess strong writing skills in order to accurately document the organitation’s troubleshooting capabilities with clarity and authority. Given their access to mission-critical applications, a Wintel engineer needs to work well under pressure.
Need to start ASAP as the current guy leaves on the 23rd. They are also happy to take people on holiday visas as they rotate this role every 6 months. Money is going to be tight as this is a tester for our capability.
