Senior Spatial Developer

Are you a highly skilled Spatial Developer with expertise in FME? This role offers the chance to take a pivotal position within a dynamic technical team, working on enterprise GIS solutions that support critical services on behalf of the government. You'll be hands-on with development while also leading the spatial area, ensuring best practices in system upgrades, integrations, and new solution development.

This role requires a collaborative team player who is approachable and can work effectively within a supportive environment. You will contribute to system design, development, maintenance, and spatial data management, while mentoring junior developers and working closely with stakeholders to deliver quality solutions.

We are looking for a Senior Spatial Developer with strong technical expertise and a practical approach to problem-solving. You should have extensive experience with FME (4+ years) and a solid background in GIS application development and spatial databases.

You should have:

• 4+ years of experience as a Senior Spatial Developer, with strong knowledge of FME.

• Strong working knowledge of GIS technologies.

• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining GIS solutions.

• Strong experience in reading, writing, and analysing complex SQL queries and procedures against relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL/PostGIS preferred).

• Ability to lead spatial solution design and development while mentoring junior team members.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively within a team and engage with stakeholders.

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise GIS solutions.

• Take ownership of spatial development projects, ensuring efficient and high-quality delivery.

• Assist in the maintenance and administration of spatial databases.

• Identify, diagnose, and resolve programming, infrastructure, and configuration errors.

• Prepare, review, and implement release packages, ensuring alignment with best practices.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers.

• Ensure solutions meet security, scalability, and performance standards.

• Work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to understand and deliver business requirements.

• Adhere to ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 quality and information security standards.

• Salary: $160K + Super (higher possible for the right candidate).

• Flexible working arrangements: 2 days per week in office
