Substations Team - Energy Projects
About the role:
Join the Energy Projects Substations Team at a Tier 1 integrated green technology, energy & metals company, working on a groundbreaking project – building a cutting edge 220kV transmission & renewable energy network!
- 12 month initial contracts, to be extended
- Monday to Friday, 9hr days
- Perth CBD office with flexibility to WFH once up and running in the role
- Up to 105/hr + super, depending on experience (up to $274k package per annum)
- Some site travel may be required as project takes shape
Key responsibilities:
Work with unique and specialised high-voltage equipment designing, procuring, supporting construction, and commissioning multiple 220kV/33kV substations throughout the Pilbara.
- Drive the successful delivery of various substation vendor packages including -
- Primary substation design
- Switchroom procurement
- High voltage switchgear
- Power transformers
- FAT & SAT
- Coordinate with multiple teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet stakeholder requirements
- Key focus areas include -
- Scope development
- Procurement management
- Construction support
- Scheduling
- Cost control
- Evaluating RFP tenders
What you’ll need to be successful in the role:
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Strong package management & project documentation experience
- 7+ years in the mining or power industry
- Strong primary substation and/or transmission design experience
- Strong vendor management & procurements experience
- Secondary substation and/or transmission design experience - highly desirable, but not essential
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously to produce project scopes, specifications and technical documentation
- Must have full working rights in Australia as this position offers no form of visa sponsorship
