Verse Group – Australia have been asked to assist a well-known organisation with their search for a Senior GIS Solution Architect to join the team, leading the design, implementation and integration of their solutions into a new application.
Leading the Architecture team, the Senior GIS Solution Architect will play a pivotal role in this company, being responsible for designing high-performing, highly scalable GIS Architectures, ensuring complete and total alignment with the objectives of the business.
Your daily life in this role will look a little something like this:
- Leading the design & architecture of Enterprise-level GIS Solutions
- Developing and continuously maintaining GIS Technology roadmaps
- Provide technical leadership in the realm of GIS Software development, database design and spatial data management
- Optimise GIS system performance, troubleshooting all technical issues, and recommending improvements.
- Provide mentorship and technical direction to GIS Developers, analysts and engineers.
Ideally, the GIS Solutions Architect will possess:
- 7 or more years’ experience in GIS Architecture, design and development
- Extensive, hands-on experience in ESRI ArcGIS Suite ( ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro ) and open-source GIS platforms with a thorough understanding of GIS web services, including REST , SOAP , and OGC Standards ( WMS , WFS , WMTS )
- Experience with cloud-based GIS Solutions and GIS SaaS/PaaS practices
- Experience and proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, C#
- Experience with Geo Spatial databases and spatial ETL Tools
- Knowledge around DevOps practices, CI/CD Pipelines and containerisation technologies
- An understanding of Agile Methodologies
- Certifications in GIS Platforms (highly desirable but not essential)
